Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 21 September 2026
Scope of the Policy and the Products or Services It Covers
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of programming courses, digital learning materials, subscriptions, and related educational services offered through the website operated by catalypo. It covers individual course enrolments, bundled learning packages, and recurring access plans for programming instruction. The policy governs transactions completed by customers located in Singapore and explains how payments are processed, when contracts are formed, and under what conditions refunds or cancellations may be available. It does not apply to third-party services or physical goods unless explicitly stated in the course description.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Any Additional Charges
All listed prices are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) unless otherwise indicated. Prices include applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the prevailing rate. Customers are responsible for any additional charges such as bank fees, currency conversion costs, or taxes imposed by their payment provider or local jurisdiction. catalypo reserves the right to adjust prices for new enrolments at any time; existing confirmed bookings remain at the price agreed at the time of purchase. Promotional discounts are applied automatically where eligible and cannot be combined with other offers unless stated.
Accepted Payment Methods, Payment Authorisation, and Payment Security
We accept major credit and debit cards, PayNow, and other secure local payment gateways commonly used in Singapore. Payment is authorised at the time of order placement. Authorisation does not constitute final settlement until the transaction is completed successfully. All payment information is handled through encrypted, PCI-DSS compliant processors; catalypo does not store full card details. Customers receive an immediate confirmation email once payment clears. In the event of a declined payment, the enrolment is not activated until a successful transaction occurs.
Order, Booking, or Service Confirmation and When a Contract Is Formed
A binding contract is formed when catalypo sends an order confirmation email following successful payment authorisation. This email contains course access details, receipt, and a summary of the purchased items. Until this confirmation is issued, no contract exists and the customer may cancel without penalty by simply not completing payment. Access to digital course content is granted only after the contract is confirmed.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Cancellation Periods
Under Singapore law, most digital educational services do not carry a statutory cooling-off period. Customers may cancel within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund provided no course materials have been accessed. After this window, cancellation is at the discretion of catalypo and subject to the refund eligibility rules below. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time to prevent future billing, but no prorated refund is provided for the current billing cycle once it has commenced.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items or Services
Refunds are available only when a course has not been accessed, technical faults prevent delivery, or a duplicate charge has occurred. No refund is granted once a customer has viewed more than 10 percent of the course content, completed any assessments, or downloaded supplementary materials. Promotional or heavily discounted courses, gift vouchers, and third-party certification fees are non-refundable. Refunds are also excluded where the customer has breached the terms of service or engaged in fraudulent activity.
The Step-by-Step Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund
To request a refund, customers must submit a written request via the contact form on the Contacts page or by emailing [email protected]. The request must include the order number, full name, registered email address, and a clear statement of the reason for the refund. Supporting evidence such as screenshots of technical errors should be attached where relevant. Requests received outside the eligible period will be declined with an explanation.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification of the Refund Decision
Upon receipt of a complete request, catalypo will inspect the account activity within five business days. The customer will be notified by email of the decision. Approved refunds are processed promptly; rejected requests receive a detailed explanation citing the relevant policy clause. Customers may appeal once with additional information, but repeated appeals on the same matter will not be considered.
Refund Method, Processing Time, and When Funds Should Reach the Customer
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Credit or debit card refunds typically appear within seven to fourteen business days depending on the card issuer. PayNow refunds are credited within three business days. catalypo is not responsible for delays caused by the customer’s bank or payment provider. A confirmation email is sent once the refund has been initiated.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services, or Promotional Offers
Digital programming courses are considered delivered once access credentials are issued. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Partial access or early termination of a subscription does not entitle the customer to a refund for unused periods. Promotional bundles are priced as a single unit and refunds are calculated on the full bundle price, not individual components. Customers who received a course through a promotion are subject to the same access thresholds as regular purchases.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud
Failed payments must be resolved within seven days or the enrolment will be cancelled automatically. Duplicate charges detected by the system are refunded automatically within three business days. Customers who initiate a chargeback without first contacting catalypo may have their account suspended pending investigation. Suspected fraudulent activity results in immediate account suspension and reporting to relevant Singapore authorities where required by law.
Mandatory Consumer Rights in Singapore That the Policy Cannot Exclude
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, the Sale of Goods Act, or the Unfair Contract Terms Act. Customers retain the right to pursue remedies through the Small Claims Tribunal or other appropriate channels for breaches of these statutes. catalypo will honour any non-excludable statutory guarantees even if they conflict with the terms above.
Contact Route, Policy Changes, and Last-Updated Date
Questions about this policy should be directed to [email protected] or through the contact form. catalypo may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be communicated via email to existing customers. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. The current version is dated 21 September 2026 and supersedes all previous versions.
